This city called Earth will be posting only black and white photography in February

This city called Earth will be celebrating black and white photography throughout February.

Expect a lot more urban portraiture than usual and a lot less urban plant life. People look great in black and white, plants do not.

And I expect I’ll be posting a higher proportion of “cheesy” or “populist” images than usual, as somehow it’s easier to do classical composition in black and white and more difficult to be sophisticated. Black and white has wider appeal. Or at least, it seems so to me. Maybe our inevitable personal preferences for colour inevitably limit the range of photos that any one of us will like. In mono, the photographer can hope for universal interest?
